Description: Each chapter of this novel alternates between the story of how Enrique Sabas and Margaret Cohen meet, fall in love, and spend the first few years of their marriage, and the story of how Margaret is facing death by cancer 30 years later. As the story bounces back and forth, the full view of their marriage comes together.
Thoughts: It is very rare that I get halfway through a book and decide to stop reading it. I had heard good things about this book and really was enjoying it for most of the first half. It was an interesting story and the writing was great. But then more and more explicit material kept creeping in, until I'd finally had enough. So, I don't recommend this book. It seemed to be pretty well done, but just had way too many explicit details that were completely unnecessary. When it started creeping away from a novel and towards pornography, I put it down.
Disclaimer: Very explicit sexual encounters, lots of swearing.
